LoCAL LAKES IN THE SNOW
« on: November 26, 2006, 11:34:10 PM »

I was wondering about going fishing to a local lake tommorrow..... I know its going to be cold... and i know its going to be snowy... But heck... Its going to be peaceful... and when else do you have the chance to fish locally in the snow....

I know the local lakes have been stocked within the last couple of months but does anyone know if fish would be more active or less active with this winter weather.... Also I take it that they should be sitting on the bottom... Am i correct.

THanks

went to sassamatt on saturday, caught i about 16 inches .there were some risers but far out .there was one person fly fishing from a float tube . although we were on the walk way you can feel the wind stiffning the knees  and other jionts . i would not be in a float tube in the water on any winter day . it was cold .

I would think that they are on the bottom....

Anyone know if any of the local lakes are frozen

Fished Sasamat on Sunday - it was cold!  I got a couple bites and managed to land 1 rainbow.  Spinning and letting my cast sink quite deep before retrieving.

Was fishing Sasamat with the girlfriend on Saturday as well, caught one 16" & one 14", threw them both back, maybe catch them again when they're 18", and didnt catch our fish until it started snowing, and boy were they ever little scrappers.
