That fish isn't on the fly. look at the top picture in the bottom left corner, theres a drennan. He was using a centerpin setup.

Yeah i'm seeing that too..and it doesn't look like he has fly line but mono on his reel..but that's a fly rod so I'm not sure either...

Thank you Sassyboy for posting the photos and thank you too to your buddy for shooting at me.Man! your buddy is huge.
I caught the hog on bug towards the end of the middle of Browne pool (below Lickman).Yap,took me that long to bring him in.I was using 6 lbs leader.I estimated it to be over 19.The one on the wall was over 18.This one is bigger. I estimated over 20 hook.8 hatchery,6 boniked,2 hatchery released. One guy opposite side among the bushes hooked 8,2 hatchery, all released. The next day,the pool was jammed packed. It was very nice to see so many serious people pounding away.By about 12 o'clock only One hook--wild. The tail end of the pool is about 2-3 feet of prime fly water.Nicole should be happy.
I was using 9100-xp sage. The reel is 41/8 Macdanold wagonwheel.Took over 5 years to hunt for this one. There were only 11 made.
A word of caution.Do not park at Browne road park place. You are better off at the camp ground and take a long hike down.
To all, thanks for all the kind words.

Joey,
I put my kingfisher on my 9100 xp-sage yesterday, the snake ferrules really worried me with mono line...Have you had any problems with that??? That would be a wicked stick with a little more of a fighting butt I bet...well done..

Hi Xgolfman.
I have used this set up for 4-5 years now,so far none I can compliant.I also know four other people using this.
I can use both hand to cast and when fighting fish just treat it as you fight on fly rod set up except you need to parm it.Some time I carry a fly reel with me.Good luck.

Thanks for the info.
I might have to give that a shot...what a blast to catch such a nice fish on that setup I bet...and so much lighter then a big rod.. :o
