late entry, fly fishing a small lake in B'ham sunday
« on: March 28, 2007, 06:35:46 PM »

I've tend to do either good or bad on this lake,,,,When it warms up and the fish are hungry (and after it's been planted) I've done well, over the colder months I've been shut out too...Always considered it a tough nut to crack....
I finally broke down and asked the guys on flybc and got some good advice.
Went out and using a clear intermediate on my 4wt and damsel nymph and carry specials hooked into some decent fish...there are native bows and cutties in this lake and i ended up with four of them...at the end I was working my way in with a rain squall whacking me and got a huge hit...took a little more time and landed a nice 1-2lb trip. These guys are few and far between right now so was pretty bumped by that...

little scrappy cuttie..
