Fishing Near Victoria
« on: September 07, 2009, 02:14:07 PM »

Going over to Vic for about a week. Will probably have a day or maybe two to do some fishing. I am willing to drive 2 hours one way.
Will be armed for trout, bass and salmon. No boat.
Any suggestions.

Try Spider Lake for some bass.

Otter point.
Ogden breakwater ..anywhere the kelp isnt!
Ten mile point (cadboro bay)
Possibly some spots near the golf course on dallas rd. (check google maps for closest access)
You can also try heading through east sooke park to try and get out behind secretary? island.  You can cast into the eddy with a long cast, springs will hang on the slack side of it.  Its a decent spot to try also.

Use a green /silver perkins about 3 inches long for the springs at otter or east sooke park and make sure you have good footing.  Rocks there can be slippery and the springs have pulled guys right in.
