ur buddy is right, unless you fish a river mouth or have a downrigger the lake is pointless to go to. i got skunked last time but had sucess around 3 years ago at the river mouth for average size rainbows(30cm,nothing special). My friend though, told me that there are dollies in there that can grow pretty big, its just there isn't too many of them, but the reward can be great with a downrigger and lure. He caught a 8 pounder. for flies in the river mouth just use the standby leeches, maybe a few nymphs, nothing special, except at dusk i caught quite a few on dries. hope this helps you prove me and your buddy wrong. If that trip proves to be bad Ivey lake just down the road is pretty hot for how moody it is.  My other friend told me he caught a 4.5 lber outta there recently and quite a few others pushing 3lbs.
anyways hope you have a good trip and be sure to tell us how it goes.

If you don't mind the gang troll, you can usually score some 10 to 12 inchers. Nothing too big in there. Some other lakes to fish close by though.
