Yes normal flies work. I have found that Brookies are a fantastic dry fly fish (one of my favorites).
The trick to these guys is to stay close to shore. They like to hide in bullrushes. It helps to hunt them down first, canoes work good for this, paddle around and through the rushes dead slow. When you spot one, there will be lots more close by, these guys like to school. You will be surprised where you find them, I have seen school of thirty or more holding in three feet of water. When you have found them back off to distance where your movements wont spook them. Acuracy comes into play because you are going to want to fire your fly into the lots in the rushes.
Flies I have found that have worked well are:
Royal Coachman Dry
Double Hackled Peacock
Tom Thumb
Chironomid
Leach
