Well I was quite privileged to be taken out by Danny (the_roe_kid) on his boat for some pink salmon fishing. We fished from roughly 5 till 8. We started off trolling with Danny having the first fish on...unfortunately he lost it. Shortly after that Danny was into a scrappy pink which he landed. Other than that trolling was pretty slow, so we anchored and started casting spoons. When we started casting spoons there was the occasional boil / jump, but by 6:30 we were surrounded by them with rises just several feet from our boat. Casting spoons was even slower than trolling with none of us even getting a bite, so we went back to trolling
. Within roughly 30 minutes of trolling Danny had his third fish on of the day, but lost it just feet from the boat. By that time the sun had set and it was getting dark so we headed back. I myself was skunked but I had a great time being on the boat to make up for it. Hopefully next time I'll get one..cough cough Danny take me out again so I can get one.
