Hi KKS:

Have you been to Cypress Lake?  How does one get there?  Is there a hiking trail or a logging road trail that gets one there?

Is there trout fishing up there?  Is it a stocked lake?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Cheers,

Joe

Kosh,

Wouldnt bother IMO, shallow, suffers winterkill and if there are fish in there they will be emaciated and small. Probably a nice-ish hike in the spring though. Ive thought about it several times myself.

Cheers.

cypress lake is 4 hectares in size and fairly deep, it was stocked in the early eighties so there is a good chance it has fish.

if you don't mind a hike, pearce lake is really nice in the early summer.  Its about a 3.5-4hr hike in, but well worth staying the night and fishing.

I remember hearing they stocked Cypress lake years ago but I doubt there is much in there now, maybe though. Monroe lake on Burke mountain has brook trout that will eagerly attack worms or flies when the snow comes off. Was there last year. Pearce lake has the biggest fish in it of any of the local mountain lakes that I came across.

Fairly deep ? no way its a swamp !  :D . Most likely gets winter and summerkill. It only ever got 500 fish 20 years ago and had no real population to begin with.

There are many other hikes around the LM  to waste time on where the fishing and scenery are way better  ;D
