Daughter's first fish
« on: April 25, 2008, 04:29:45 PM »

I took my daughter on a quick fishing trip today. We went to Lafarge lake in Coquitlam, took a picnic, watched a bald eagle catch a fish and enjoyed the sun. There were a lot of people fishing and 7 people in float tubes / pontoon boats, so there were plenty of people fishing. We tried our luck with a simple small sliding weight to a size 12 barbless hook baited with power bait, and a 'fairy liquid' soap top bite indicator (it's a cap from liquid soap kinda like sunlight soap from England).

My daughter landed two nice trout (her first fish ever), let one go and kept the other one for dinner. All in all a very sucessfull day.

Ya she was pretty excited with catching her first fish.
I took her ice skating for the first time a couple weeks ago and the first thing she said when we left was "Can we go fishing now?"
So of course being a good father i took her fishing the next day, but we didn't catch anything.

Now i just gotta get my wife out fishing.

that's hilarious.  i love the way she's holding the fish in the first pic. her hands are barely big enough to get her fingers around it.
Awesome.  ;D
