has anyone been up in that area this year? going up this weekend and wonderig if it is ice free and if it turned yet. if i find out that it is not worth it is there any other lakes in that area that would be fishable?

it is ice free.  but not fishing well.

good luck, better bet would be to hit one of the numerous brookie lakes nearby.
