This lake is teeming with carp.....Cast far out to the middle of the lake with a weight on the bottom and slip knot........Try worms or a resilient type of dough....

I have heard of guys picking them up on dry flies so I don't think there is any reason a piece of bread on the surface wouldn't work as long as it was small enough.  I know the guys getting them on flies were using very small sizes.  Not sure if that behavior is really feeding behavior though, I have my doubts.

I have caught them with bread on the surface before...only not in Canada and only on very small bodies of water.   A piece of bread crust with a hook inside did the trick.

I think I might try bread or flies on the surface of deer lake because it looks like they might be finning about and feeding on bugs, or something, on the surface.  Will probably need a boat so it might be hard to avoid scaring them.

Due to the location any Carp left in there are so wily of a hook, that they ain"t coming for dinner too easy. They saw many kin head off and I mean head off to the table. There the offspring of the one that got away. :)
