   11am I decided to have a look to see if the slough was fishable with all the rain falling. after a 30 min drive arrive to see its a low tide  and although the water is up  its still has good visabillaty with not to many leaves floating along with the current. that can be a proplem spoon fishing this time of year. pop open the trunk to find out that my rain coat is still hanging up in the garage. fished for about 2 hours no bites about as wet  as one could get standing in that downpour in a fleece jacket. Last fall I was off work on strike and was able to fish the slough at peek times (incoming tide) beached12 coho and had numerous hook ups, this fall have fished the slough 3 times without a strike. have I missed the run or like other rivers just apoor return? A friend was onthe chealis last week, another fisherman told him that gov't officals are concerned about an unstable gravel bank around the 9 mile area. If this true there should be a public notice warning people that if they are on the river and the water suddenly drops get off the river immediatly. Has anyone else  heard this rumor?

Fished the slough twice this year Rob and not much happening.  Things do not look too good this year...Vedder seemed sporadic for coho & springs, Squamish has been closed 2 years in a row.   Have fished the Lower Mainland rivers since the 80's ....hope this is not a sign of things to come in the following years.

I fish the lower mainland rivers through out the year and its not good at all.  its been bad the past few years nothing really happening in terms of big numbers of fish.  There is still fish but very hard to catch and its very hard to find them.

how was the Vedder sporadic for springs

guess you just timed it wrong because they all showed up in Early September and were tailing off by Mid-October. I caught loads of springs this year and because they were early ALL of them were bullet chrome 

as for the Coho on the Vedder I hooked 5 only landing 3 so to say its spotty for those is an understatement.

I have fished the slough once this year and it tribs twice and hooked 3 so far  losing all of them  I was fly fishing however

its up pretty high and moving pretty fast. Better off to fish the sloughs untill the water drops a bit

bout 2 feet this morning, dark green tea colour... pounded a few runs for the first hour with only a trout to show for my efforts so I headed to the nearby slough. Clean scrappy chums almost every cast and lost a nice coho to boot.
