NFR - Bird shots from last weekend
« on: December 17, 2008, 07:52:04 AM »

It was cold, sunny weather this past weekend (Well - cold for Vancouver  ::) ). I had some great opportunities to go out and shoot some birds. Down at Burnaby Lake on Saturday morning and then back at the house for the rest of the weekend…

I’m going to break down the birds into a series of links to make it easier :)

Downy Woodpecker
Spotted Towhee
Red Breasted Nuthatch
Oregon Juncos
Pine Siskins
Various Ducks
Green Winged Teals
Various Birds

Enjoy them! It was fun getting out and shooting!

Great shots Brian, We have a few spotted towhees lately, lots of Juncos and Chickadees. The house sparrows seemed to have gone south as well as the finches. We had a pair of Flickers at the feeder last weekend as well. Food might be getting scarce for the birds with this white stuff all over.

Yeah.  They are ALL over the feeder these last couple of days.  Fun to watch!

I haven't had a chance to see any flickers yet.  What are you putting out for food?

Nice photos, they are making me more eager to use the rebel 1000D with 70-300mm IS lens I just ordered.
