Cowichan River, January 31st 2009
« on: January 31, 2009, 06:34:26 PM »

Today was another great day on the flow walked around with a local top rod and was showen how it's done on the cowie we were on the flow around 10 this morning after a 20 min hike to a real nice section of the river. We were the only ones there and obviously it was a secret spot as there were no tracks leading into this spot about 6 casts in my buddy hooks about a 6 or 7 lb steelie some guys are good. He landed this beutiful wild and we snaped a quick pic or two and sent him on his way.  We walked around alot as my buddie has fished this river for 20 some years and we also drove around it was more of an educational day on where and the type of water to fish. I learned alot on the flow today and think it's just a matter of time before i land my first of many chrome cowichan bullets.

There's a well trodden pathway along much of the Cowichan all kinds of people use it for exercise it goes for miles and miles.

It's a funny place though fish aren't always in what look like the best holding spots.
