Good job Yaki, nice to see. Wish I could get out again to try my luck but so much to do and so little time  to do it, it seems. Well done and congratulations. ;)

There in there, what did it bite? Upper or Lower?

Short day for me today  :P , but it was a beauty . Fished up river for the last few outings , myself and Fishonsteelheader so we decided to give the lower a shot . With the little rain we received we thought a few fish would be coming in fresh . Got to the river around 7:15 and found some new water we haven't fished before , passed it a million times and the same ole thing we say to each other " gotta try that spot one of these days " and keep on going . Not this time though , we did stop and rewarded for doing it . We walked in to find a good stretch of water , the water was about 2 feet of visability , enough color that we wouldn't spook any steelies that were holding there . My buddy fished up from me 50 yards in another slot . After about 20 minutes I look up and see he is into a Steelie breaking the water surface , I grab my camera and head toward him but by the time I got within 30 feet from him it broke off  :o , guesstimated around 8 lbs . . Head back to my spot and a few cast the float goes down , just a little tug that was all , no slamming the bait , just a little tug a then it was " game on " . Landed a nice big doe 14 lbs ,weighed in at Freds . 8:00 am I was done  ;D . A good morning for us . Congrats to you yakideath12 , looks like you had fun to  8) .

i got to be by myself today, as my dad left me and fished down river, so i'm just practicing my casting when the float dips, nothing. Cast there again, float dives, set the hook, solid weight. $H!T, add pressure, weight moves. OMG!!! I get 4 good head shakes, snapped my leader. FARG!!!!!

My landing skills suck so much! I'm 2 for 6 now.

slipped out for a little bit today and I just cannot believe how many guys are out. This is my first season steelheading and it is begining to feel a lot like coho season. I drove past KWB and there was 11 guys on the bar!!!!! just standing there flogging the water. Guys under the bridge, and cars all over the place, I was kinda liking the solitude of steelheading but that seems to be changing. Is this normal for Feb? or are there just more guys out? the tackle shops gotta be loving it though.

Dont worry, Im 0-3 as far as solid hook-ups go (fights longer than 20 secs) and 0-4 for barbing fish.... just cant seem to be fast enough this year.
