Headed up to the Stave this AM.  Quite supr
surprised at the level of the water this AM.  Very little fishing ground left.  The bridge over the spawning channel is only about 6" above water.  No fish jumping or raising all morning.  Worked a couple of spots with the fly line.  To fish had to be in water over my waist.  Did not bother going over to the west side.

That's how it is like at this time of the year.  Something to do with the dam releasing water from Stave Lake i guess..? 
I fished the river last May, and the water level was exactly the way u described.  Good fishing on the west side though, i was able to land two large northern pikeminnows and a smaller cutthroat trout.

It is not just the Dam that causes high water, high tide on the fraser as well as the freshet on the fraser causes the water on the stave to be high.
