Yeah I just checked a superstore flyer and salmon FILLETS are $7.23 a pound. That is less than half the price of eulacheons, lol.

I am seriously thinking of buying salmon steaks from the grocery and using the bottom part. The price of eulacheon is criminal at $7.99 for 0.5 lbs. Edible salmon from the grocery is way cheaper per lbs than eulies....

You could always try catching a couple pike minnow, cut them up and try that  ;)

You can go to Saveon foods and buy the bellies and head for like three bucks.Also go T and T market they have a ton of good bait:)

I know they use squid all the time on the Columbia River. The tackle shops down there even sell them in jars ready to use. Tried up here once with no luck.
