Photograph by: Imax, A mysterious-looking carcass thought to be the remains of a legendary sea monster in Okanagan Lake, B. C., will be analyzed by two Canadian scientists. Dan Poppoff, a Kelowna resident, discovered the creature two weeks ago while paddling his Kayak near the far end of Lakeshore Road on the shore of Okanagan Lake. The carcass is more than a metre long, and might be the remains of an Ogopogo, one of the legendary inhabitants of the lake. Mr. Poppoff was interested in finding out just what it was he had found so he stuffed the carcass in his freezer and contacted Arlene Gaal, a Kelowna woman who was written extensively on Ogopogo sightings over the years. A tissue sample of the creature will be sent to a researcher in Ontario for DNA testing, and the carcass itself will be examined by a scientist in Alberta. There have been many sightings of an Ogopogo for decades around the Okanagan Lake area. Descriptions of the beast resemble the Lock Ness Monster.
