We, personally, start at Osbourne Road and go the the Train Bridge down in yarrow.
Takes around 5-6 hours depending on stops.
Another common spot is to start at either OTW or the Crossing and go to the bridge.

I would personally start below Lickman area and go to the train bridge. there is alot of snags and stuff to get swept into above the crossing bridgeand we dont need to read anymore stories of people getting sucked under. Be careful and wear a lifejacket !!!

Don't know where they get in to the Vedder, but more than a few get out in a black station wagon. ;D

Tubing can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Was there not one dead and another almost dead last year from tubing ? The search and rescue people , I believe , recommend you stay below the Veddar Crossing so there is less chance they will have to fish you out . I seem to recall one dead also with the Chilliwack rafting outfit also last season . So there were 2 dead one close call . Stay out if the water is high too is the recommendation. And stay well away from log jams , they're what is going to kill you.

I was the one that called search and rescue for the second guy.
Got caught in the exact same log jam the girl died in... right below her flowers  ::)
I always carry a cell phone in a waterproof case, good idea and would reccomend it to everyone that goes out, could save your friends life.

As for the log jams.
Many people believe that since there is a narrow 10 foot strip of water the flows besides it the water will "bump" them around the log jam and take them through that little strip. Doesn't work that way, it pushes you under. Use common sense and get out above every log jam you see and you will be completely fine.

This is where the "not know what you're doing" part comes in and gets people in trouble . The fact is , anyone can hop in a tube in the river and go for a ride with out any know how requirements . All many know , is , it looks like fun. Us fishing types at least have some expearience with what the force of the water can do .
