Spotted Prawns ????
« on: May 30, 2010, 01:23:44 PM »

I was given several pounds of spotted prawns , I need a recipe to cook them ? I need an other way to cook them as they are still moving , I generally cook regular prawns with garlic and black bean sauce .

Live Prawns!!

Pill and dip soy sauce and wasabe.   1 sashimi prawn at Japanese restaurant is about $2 a piece.

If you want to cook em up with the garlic & black bean sauce, simply remove the heads from them and make sure to pull out the vein in there (twist off the head, when you see the vein just pinch it and slowly pull it out). Give em a rinse and once that's done, you can remove the shell from the tails or cook em up  with the shell on the same way you would regular prawns :)

I like fresh ones like that boiled.

garlic butter is always nice to dip them in.

That's how I usually make em, they're great that way :)

Nothing beats breaking off the heads live and then peeling and eating raw

I like them just boiled, they are nice and sweet, no need to add anything to them.
