Has anyone been smelt fishing?

Went to Stanley park East of lions gate bridge. Got a whopping four smelts tonight. I was the only one there. I remember when that wall use to be wall to wall with smelt fishing nets. Anybody else smelt fishing with any success?

Spoke to a guy last week while pink fishing. He and 7 other fishermen caught a grand total of 4 smelts.

A few pink years back I went to Spanish banks  and a guy next to us caught a humpie in his net.
