Color of roe-pink or natural??
« on: September 28, 2009, 06:04:21 PM »

Do you think it makes a difference if the roe is dyed pink or left to a natural color when fishing for coho?

This is assuming that everything is the same (size, texture, boraxed) except for the color.

Then you're far too organized  ;D

How bout this? Say a guy is going to be going to the Vedder this thursday to sunday with anticipated rain throughout the week leading up to, which color of roe do you figure a guy would want to have.

It doesn't matter, cause it will be your buddies that catch all the fish ;D

Bring both types.  I prefer "double red hot stuff" or "rocket red" for coho.  If no red, then I'll go with pink.
I use natural for steelies.  I'm interested in trying the UV flash additive when the water colours up.

For coho I use hot pink and sometimes orange.

I just use natural roe all the time and when the water is blown or dirty you don't need any bait to catch coho. But if you only fish with roe you can tie on a small piece of wool to your hook to make it more visable in diffrent water conditions.

--try to bring enough variety to use what everyone else is using that's catching, when it slows change up.
--if crowded and everyone useing the same thing I try something different.
