Non-Tidal Fraser River, September 21st & 22nd 2009
« on: September 22, 2009, 01:08:19 PM »

Knock on the door at 6:00Am, it,s my son wanting to go fishing. So off we go to the Fraser above the Mission bridge. Get to my favorite spot and there is only tow other vehicles there. Get geared up and walk down to the river, it's 6:50 and I make my first cast with the light spinning rod, fish on, play the fish for a minute or so and then POp my line breaks, drop the spinning rod at the cooler and pick up my 7 WT with my special Pink Fly and hit the water. Second cast with the fly rod and fish on. Fo rthe next two hours we had a fish on every 3rd or 4th cast. My son had a ball, he is 26 and just getting into fishing, we were back home by 9:30 filleting fish and getting them in the brine for smoking.
Last night the phone rings at 9:30 , it's my son and he says hey Dad lets go fishing in the morning again, I say OK but I need to be back in Langley 9:00. So once again he picks me up in the morning at 6:00, after a stop at Timmies and the gas station we hit the river at 7:00. Twenty minutes later I am cleaning my Four pinks and one for my son. Then I have to wait until 8:00 for him to get the rest of his Pinks then we are off back to Langley. All in all a great time and some quality time spent with my son to boot. Now all I have to do is get all of the fish smoked. ;D

I welcome the day when my son wants to go fishing let alone initiates it.
I think ill have to buy a computer fishing game for it to happen though.lol
Sounds like a lot of fun.
