Vedder Water Conditions
« on: October 21, 2009, 09:16:20 AM »

Hi.  Have my timeoff this week and I plan to go to fishing the Vedder. Does anyone know what the river condition is right now? Is there  a website where I can check this information? My buddy told me that he went last last Sunday and mentioned that it was not fishable as the water was high. Could the Stave river be a better a place to fish right now? How about the the Fraser here in Richmond? Appreciate anybody's input. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of places you can check.  One is right here on this site, look for the "2009 Chilliwack River fall salmon fishery information & water condition updates" topic under General Discussion.

For water levels, try http://scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/formnav.asp and look up Chilliwack River.  Unfortunately it won't tell you how clear/dirty the water is, just how high it is.  You won't want to fish after a sharp spike upwards typically, but as the water levels begin to come back down.

Good luck!
