Techie Question: YouTube to MP3 or Similar?

Question for all the techies in the crowd: Is it possible to transfer a song from YouTube over to a format (just the music of course) my CD player can recognize and play?

I have a lengthy road trip in front of me, a handful of tunes that I can only find on YouTube (not by regular artists you see) and would like to have them onboard for the run.

You bet  :)  Simply put the youtube link into this website http://www.video2mp3.net/ and it will create a downloadable mp3 file for you. Once you have the music on you computer, you will need to burn it to a format your CD player in your car can recognize. I use burn aware. The free version is just fine. http://www.burnaware.com/downloads.html Then either click burn Audio CD or MP3 CD depending what your CD player in your car can read.

thats a good link but Ive found it gets overloaded allot.
If you use FireFox instead of Explorer you can get additions that allow you to turn anything from youtube into an mp3 or most streaming audio to an mp3 or almost any video to mpeg or flv video..
