Tidal Fraser River, October 24th 2009

After being caged inside for a couple of days to rid this nasty cough, I went out this late morning to join Fishersak and Lucky for a few hours of fishing. Not a whole lot happened. Fishersak managed to connect with two bull trout and missed a few tugs as well. I had a couple of light tugs, nothing to get too excited about. We saw a couple of fish caught far away from us, which looked like coho salmon. A few chum salmon rolled at times. Water clarity was roughly two feet with a tea colour, good enough for both spincasting and baitfishing.

After that session, it was time to grab lunch with Chrome Mykiss and Itosh before heading out again for a little bit to another spot. The moderate low tide kept enough water at the spots where I wanted to target. Second cast I had a bull trout swiping my spinner but missed. Ten minutes went by, another fish loosen the resistance of the spinner but I poorly set the hook and missed it again. Just before Dark I finally landed a bull trout. There are definitely more bull trout around now, time to bring out the ultralight spinning rod or fly rod.
