got to the river around 7:00 am...first hour the water was looking good, then coloured up pretty quick...not so much from the rain, but (i suspect) from the snow melt caused by the warm temperatures. i fished mid river where visibility went from 2 feet to mere inches by 10:30 am. and water level was rising.
drove up to check the water condition at the slab...sorry to say, it was like chocolate milk.... i decided to try down below and fish the campgrounds where the clarity was a bit better... got into some chum (none retained) and saw a few cohos taken from across the river... by the time i left, visibility had deteriorated and water went up by a couple of feet.

Nice dry warm afternoon in the valley but the river was blown. Chocolate milk and debris everwhere and water continued to rise all day with no better water clarity at days end. I just did a bunch of exploring for spots that might be good next week. Unless you're into flossing blind fish then it will be a wasted trip tomorrow with additional rain on the way.  :-\

Fished lower river a bit below the train bridge in the morning from about 8AM 'til 9:30AM or so and landed one ugly chum on roe.  Water was like silty absinthe colour.

Decided to go way up and ended up near Borden Creek.  Water was a Timmy Ho's Double Double colour and BIG and FAST.  Had two fish on briefly that geared me in the flow...the water was WAY too fast and I really should never have stuck around...  Was only there for a half hour or less...

I then decided to have a look around a usually popular spot mid river and I found a stretch of river that had no one within at least a few hundred feet of me. Strange.  Gave it a try as the water was fast but there were a number of promising looking troths that looked like Coho would scoot through...  Landed a chrome wild Ho in the 8 - 10 pound range within first 10 mins (on a copper hammered blade) and then not a lot else over the next few hours.   :-[  Switched up the gear several times and final count on assorted stuff was one nasty Jack Spring that I caught in a bit of protected pocket water (poor guy was zonkered and had almost nothing left in him), two other promising silver bullets that I lost because I was a moron, as well as 1 BIG spring that hit the flow and snapped me off.  I did end up fishing near a guy that retained 3 BEAUTIFUL hatchery Ho's and released several wild ones.  He also released several very clean Chum that had a nice silver shean to them. 

As the day went on, the river continued to get bigger and faster and other than the morning the visibility was pretty crappy.
