If I'm fishing with my buddy Phil, I do it to him all the time.

Why?  ....because it bugs him!!!!

I never fish that close to somebody, however, what pisses me off is anglers on the opposite side of the river lobbing 100ft casts across the whole river into water you are fishing.

It never happens because I would never fish that close to anyone at this time of the season.

Lol except when I'm with you Ryan, then I just run upriver to "the spot", switch back to a prawn and take your hatchery away. 
Told you that you should have let me go to my birthday party... no you insisted that I stay for that last 20 mins hahahaha 

I actually did the float thing though to my buddy.
He missed a fish right in front of him this last week, let my float drift right down and boom... 16 pound wild buck on the beach 3 mins later 

If someone I didn't know did that to me I would flip right out.
And I would never get that close to anyone during Steelhead season, hell when I came home this last week I fished 3 different days and only saw like 5 people on the other side of the river

I dont think I could look at you for another 20 minutes after that. Like I said I dont fish around crowds, and If someone wants to long drift me, ill get even. But when it comes to fishing with buddies it comes down to anything goes. Theres no feeling better in the world then pulling a fish out from behind a buddy, but I cant say the same vice-versa.

When I am fishing with my friend and I miss a fish I will tell Greg "I just missed a fish in that spot,see if you can get him to bite"It gives me great pleasure to see others catch a fish because I was around when steelhead were plentifull.

It's a situation best avoided.If it should happen by accident just apoligise and move on.If it happens to you once don't get too excited.Repeatedly however that's another story.Particularly if the angler below you casts upstream.Then the most bizarre fishing behavior may ensue!
