Finally got a chance to head out again after a month and a half of no time. Hit the river by about 6:45 am. Met up with a buddy and went to one of his spots in lower end. chucked out roe for a while, then swicthed over to jensen eggs. Nothing happened for the first 45 mins or so that we fished. We then headed to another spot that i did well at last year in the lower end. Kept with the jensen egg and a bit of red and white wol. 3rd cast, BAM! Fish on about a 8lb or so doh. Jumps up and out a couple times.. then the fight last for about another 5 mins....soooo close to my feet and she decides to take another dive and hops outta the water for the third time and shakes the living cupcakes outta her head and spits my hook!! I then cast again.... nothing happens.. My buddy starts talking to me as i chuck my line out again i took my eyes off my float for a second. As i turned back my float was gone so i set the hook and again Fish on! Second cast, this time it was a doh about 13-14 lbs fought her a lil bit and she headed for the rapids and disapears. No steel head for me today, but the sunshine and the fights on my center pin left me more then satisfied. I will never use a level wind again unless im on the fraser
. Water was great as well.
