Kawkawa Lake, March 3rd 2010
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:19:35 AM »

We had a fairly good and bad day at Kawkawa Lake. The fishing turned on in the second half of the trip, but the rain was coming down hard on us throughout the whole trip.

Krill was what we used under the float, but flies would most likely have worked just as well. You can read more here:

I have to go do some work in hope in a couple of weeks. Can you fish from the shore, would it be worth taking a rod?

Hey Rod,

Do you think a canoe would work in that lake?

I would love to get out but have never been to that lake...

Would there be areas of the lake, in a canoe that could "safely" have a reasonable chance at getting into fish?

Thanks

Most of the lake is either private land or steep drop off, so not really anywhere to fish from shore besdies the dock at the boat launch. You never know unless you try but a boat is the most practical way to get to the action.

I saw a couple of canoes out there on the weekend. It is not a big lake, it is common the see smaller boats like float tubes, pontoons and canoes

Anyone who know how to handle a canoe should have no problem on that lake. I got my first canoe instruction on that lake back in 77.
