what river should I fish near Terrace late july?
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:09:27 PM »

That's it! I will finally experience the great fishing of the central coast.
I am heading to Terrace last week of July. I will target chinook and halibut.

What river should I fish, other that the skeena?
On the Skeena itself, would anybody know some good spots?
any info is welcome

Lucky you!!  ;D.  I fished the Kitimat daily while working up that way a few years back.  If you fish the Vedder frequently, you'll probably acclimate to this river quickly as it's also a smallish walk and wade.  Chinook, chums and pinks would probably be in there thick by the time you visit, and perhaps some early coho as well.  There are many other great systems.  I recommend that you subscribe to Noel Gyger's weekly report http://noelgyger.ca/.  You can look up past reports here as well.

The drive to Prince Rupert from Terrace, one drives over a few streams all are worth fishing!
Are you fly fishing, casting spoons and spinners etc
The drive from Terrace over to Smithers again Fishherman's Paradise
Really anywhere up there you can't go wrong!

Kitiamt in my opinion is okay....but as the previous post says if you have fished the Vedder....
All the way up there wouldn't want a place to yourself? and it's so easy to do

I guess I'll be bar fishing in the skeena and in the smaller stream I'll float fish with roe and use spinners.
Actually, Spinner is my favorite type of fishing, so slow moving water and deep pools is what I'm after.
any suggestion?

Thanks fisherama for the link
