Surrey Bend park
« on: April 14, 2010, 08:56:34 PM »

nearly 20 years in South Surrey and never been there. Shameful.  Workload.    But I hear that tomorrow is the day for the future. the city is willing to hear ideas from the public. Us!
But, can anyone tell me why there is no boat launch there ?  there is one in the south?  Langley has one.  Is there ever been any discussions or attempt to have one there??   Or am"I wrong, and the City of Surrey has a beautiful boat ramp there, and I don't have to go there tomorrow to ask for one.

Public open house, for the Surrey regional park future, at Pacific Academy, 10238 168th street.  6 2 8 pm.   Please tell me they already have plans for a beautiful boat ramp for nice courteous access to the Fraser river in beautiful North Surrey.

There use to be a boat launch by the Barnston island ferry. I believe it got washed out one year and was never replaced. That would be on the very east end of the Bend Park. Remember it's Surrey so like most lower mainland areas it would appear private marinas won the argument that tax payers shouldn't be in the boat launching business......
