Flashers not flashy enough

I just came into some older flashers and was wondering if there is a GREEN way to clean these up???

If it'll help in the fish dept that would be a bonus....  ;D

Half a lemon and some salt will work, but I read in a Jack Shaw book that fish were repelled by citrus fruits, so I would just use brass polish myself.  I don't think its that bad for the environment.
