Sorry I made a bit of a mistake on my last post.
1280x720 is "HD"  but it is what the w60 has already.  So it is not an improvement.
Still I like the looks of that w90!

Nevermind guys  ::) the wife thought she had the right camera but it was infact the W80 she looked up which does have alot of bad reviews which is probably why Mr.P says he doesnt really like it.

I will be looking at this W90 when it comes out for sure........maybe a store will give me a deal for buying 2  ;D

the biggest thing i like about this camera is that it can take super macro shots as close as 1cm !!!

Thats what I thought ;)

We have discussed this in length on another forum. The W80 was a terrible addition to the Optio series and thats the reason they came out with the W90 quicker than expected. That macro mode looks amazing as well as now having HD movie mode.

Get the floating wrist strap!
Then you won't lose your camera in the river and have to buy another one like I did lol.

I have a GoPro camera.  It takes great pics, and great HD video.  I posted a video on here a few days ago, and in it there are still shots which were taken with it.  Keep in mind that when you upload video on youtube it is not as clear as it is on your own computer, or television.  It's about half the quality.

I'd buy it directly from their web site.  It is cheaper, and they offer warranty on everything, with very rapid service.  I broke a buckle, and they sent me a new one in about a week via fed ex.

I'm very impressed with the Panasonic TS-2.  A bit more money but it does HD video and outstanding photos too. I have the earlier version, the TS-1 which I recently promised to my mom for mothers day.

Here's some pics of the TS-2 (around $380cnd)

# 28mm Wide-angle Lens
# 4.6x Optical Zoom / 6x Intelligent Zoom / 9.8x Extra Optical ZoomNew
# Shockproof, Waterproof, Freezeproof and Dustproof Protections up to 30 feet!

Some digital images I took with my new pentax W 90 using the microscope macro function.
The hooks and bugs are all about size 18 or smaller.  So far so good with this camera.
