Thompson River, September 8th 2010: On the road
« on: September 08, 2010, 05:01:18 PM »

Sure good to be away from the hustle and bustle of the Valley up in the Thompson River country but they are flossing sockeye here too, limit is 4 a day. ::)
Fished one day for jacks after selling corn at Lytton at Riverfest. Made enough to pay for the trip. ;D

Got 4 nice jacks in a little over an hour. ;D ;D

Library closing so will have to sign off.

Grouse open tomorrow so hope for some good action like last season. Maybe even a deer to go along with it. Sheep open tomorrow so lots of people scoping the banks along the Thompson.

I got some video footage of them fly fishing for sockeye in the Thompson this morning. That was after I helped a F/N lady change her tire as she had no tire iron. As I had two in the Leaf Mobile I gave her one for future use. I will put the sockeye video on u tube on my return. ;D

There is still lots of sockeye and they can retain 4 per day in certain sections.

This is sure a nice area to be, clean air, friendly people, lots of history and of course lots of jacks that I will go after I have a coffee. It usually takes a short time to take a limit at this time of year

sounds like you're having a great trip chris.
Work has been slow lately so I've been thinking of heading up for a night sometime next week, give those jacks another shot.
