When coho jumps to attempt to spit out your hook, which action would you take: Pull the rod back or reel the line?
OR neither, just keep the line tight ???

Bow to the fish!!!!!

With that being said, usually all that is required is to just drop the tip of the rod for a split second and then resuming the upright position.

Don't keep it to low for too long, just a quick 1-2 second drop and then back up.

Quick, grab your camera for a nice shot, probably last time you see that chromer. :D

Point you rod to direction that maintains the right tension. Feel the force.

the only time you ever pull back playing a fish is if your setting the hook, but sometimes you dont even have to do that, its all depending on what method of fishing your using  ;D

That is exactly what the newbie sockeye fishermen do when the socks make that last run upon seeing the beach, they pull back, then wonder why the hook pop out. Must be they didn't set the hook hard enough, or pull back fast enough when the fish ran.

Salmons have soft mouth, guess what happens when a fish dives forward as you pull back.
