Tidal Fraser River, October 3rd 2010

Yesterday worked out pretty well with two species to hand, today Fishersak and I went out to a different spot (fairly easy to recognize if you live in Metro Vancouver ;D ). I spotted a cutthroat trout that jumped five times in the shallow water and it didn't take too long to fool it.



We saw a few other swirls and splashes too but nothing else was landed beside another tug that I had after Fishersak left.

All three Tidal Fraser predatory species in one weekend, very satisfied. :D

Rod, looks like you picked the right river to fish as the Vedder was a total zoo today, packed with anglers.  Unfortunately and sadly the weather was cloudy and cooler so the much anticipated Rotary Trail dikebunny hatch (flight?) did not materialize.

Too bad Dave. Down here the rocks are void of anglers and the bunny hatch on the dyke has been excellent since Richmond is always sunny and warm. ;D

Rod,

Went down to the river this around 11am this morning and was quite surprised to see the river so dirty.  Thought with no rain lately that it would be a bit clearer.  The tide was still running out so maybe that had something to do with it.  Have you noticed the river to be dirty than usual for this time of year?  Just eyeing up a spot for barfishing and spinning for this Saturday.

Clarity was fine on Sunday. I just took a look today and it is indeed very dirty now. The water condition down here depends on how much rain the upper tributaries get (not Chilliwack, etc, but up in Northern BC). It's not unusual for the river to be this dirty in October since North gets quite a bit of rain at times.
