Not that I'd ever eat a chum again, but why are they closed. I could not keep them off today. Some of them literally inhaled roe down their throats. Fresh too....really nice shape.
Ended up with about a dozen of them, 1 chrome 8lb coho and a nasty spring (30lbs +). Lots of action today. Lots of chum in the Vedder.

They are closed because the count numbers are low. This is a fishery that should never have been opened in the first place. Im hoping DFO goes back to the days of old and keeps the Chums closed.Maybe as a result of this closure there will be alot less" meat" anglers on the river.

 Do you really think that the meat mongers are there for that one chum a day limit. Those meat mongers are there for their flossed blackened springs and coho's .

Yes the chum were very plentiful when I went out for the afternoon fishing trip. There was so many I stopped fishing, they were coming by, wave on wave and hungry for bait too.

Went up to KWB to pick up some garbage. Was very please to find very little on the gravel bar. The parking areas saw me get nearly a bag full.

Too bad after it was all cleaned up a couple of weeks ago. Come on people.

Talked to one chap working the bridge area and he said his arm was so sore from all the action he had. Saw two chinooks that had been retained.

Found a very nice balsa wood float in a log jam, a reward for my efforts. ;D ;D

Only saw one chum caught yesterday.It was not the chum that made me stop it was the flossers!Geesh i get at this spot at 530 am to avoid having to fish with crowds and it didnt take long before i was forced out Even though there was no room they would walk in and chucking big chunks of pencil lead or the ole bouncing betty!!!!Time to start cutty hunting

i agree with you dennis t, the numbers appear to be way down after looking at historical catches from albion test sets 4-7 years ago. they have a cumulitave catch in the 2600 range this year, when in previous years would get that in one week.
