Tidal Fraser River, October 14th 2010
« on: October 14, 2010, 05:05:52 PM »

Had a late start to the day. Shelved my plans to head to the Cheddar and decided to try a little barfishing instead. Arrived just as the tide was reaching its peak. Had numerous bites although most of them seems to be bullheads. Did have one vicious takedown which I missed. Quite a few fish moving through.

Got to my chosen spot late also, after high water slack, started off with the bullhead bait stealing show. After an hour a decent take down, and ended up landing a hatchery coho jack, packed it in after that. Going again tomorrow. :)

There's a "Walter" of a sturgeon just off Dease Island Park, he jumps every 10 to 15 minutes, you can almost time him, he's HUGE !!
The guys I talk to say there's still a good abundance of sturgeon around the lower river areas. I know guys that do pretty good around the Lafarge area.
