i dont have a record as i dont keep track but a 1/16th of a ounce croc on my shimano bantam corado goes a very good distance ;D

Sorry, I should have clarified, the Record is a round levelwind reel made by Abu Garcia.  Its smoother than a C4 and quite adept at casting light lures and its my go-to coho reel.  http://www.abugarcia.com/prod.php?k=132608&sk=132487&p=PURRCN40%20(1115467)

I would definitely take a Shimano Curado baitcaster over any spinning reel for the application you need it for.  They have been around a long time and are tough as nails.  I have some that are over 10 yrs old and still work like new. Maintenance is a breeze as well. Depending on your skill with a baitcaster you should be able to cast a 1/8 oz jig 200 ft no problem. The rod you match it with has alot to do with your distance as well. For about 50 or 60 bucks more you can get a Shimano Chronarch. Now that is a really sweet piece of kit.
