Got out for a couple of hours this afternoon and was greeted by great conditions. Missed a fish of some sort, float went down and was too slow to even pull. Bait came back near pulled off the hook. Fish did not offer me another opportunity. :o

I went out friday and sat. It has been great! Friday was the first time my friend and I ever steelhead fished. We managed to hook 4 and land 3. I managed to land 2, and both of mine were over 10 lbs. Judging by the photos the guy at Fred's said the larger one looked to be more like 14-15lbs.

It was amazing, I caught my fish back to back casts!

Sat was much slower, hooked one but i quickly lost it because i didn't set the hook thinking it was a snag. I was standing on a rock so at least I got to witness it turn sideways and spit the hook. The image haunts me now!

Lots of fish coming out both Fri & Sat, many weighed in at Freds, and more wilds that were released, lots of water brought the fish in.
Sitting on your duff dreaming of January? Stop looking at all the expensive gear you bought and get out there.
Was a GREAT weekend!!
Oh yeah, ...the water was fat, perfectly colored, and producing.

The numbers of fishing being hooked has been incredible so far this year. This years winter run is going to be great I think and judging from friends reports and from my trips so far this year it's holding true so far.
