Chilliwack River, January 29th 2011

Having not fished for over a month, and while masochistically reading the successful reports of others during that time, I decided that not weather nor crowds could deter me today.  I started the day early, planning on rounding my usual circuit only to find that the river morphology had completely changed.  After vigorously covering water for a few hours and hopelessly watching the visibility degrade, I contemplated either heading upstream or hitting a different flow...  Too lazy today... upstream it is.  As I had anticipated, the hordes were out, so I opted to go for a hike into uncharted territory (by me anyhow) in search of solitude.  I suppose that I made a series of lucky decisions today and I was blessed by the end of the day with five fish on and two fish to the beach!

Good to hear that you had a sucessful day despite visibility problems.
After fishing the lower river yesterday, I thought today would be tough going.
I guess the visibility at the top is much different than the lower river.

that is a NICE doe, so fat and full of eggs.....that being said I have hooked the majority of my fish this year on old crusty cured coho roe over fresh boraxed steelhead roe (got a couple does on my first few outings)
