Please excuse my ignorance if I need to be excused but why is the comeback of whitefish on the veddar a good thing? Just curious.

The return of whitefish would indicate an improvement in invertebrate populations;  more grits would be of course be beneficial for other salmonids like juvenile coho, steelhead and char.  A possible reason for the increased productivity may be the ongoing BCCF nutrient program on the C-V.
