Campbell River Fishing (Canoe?)
« on: May 29, 2011, 02:34:18 PM »

I am headed out to Campbell River for the first week of July and was looking for some advise. Is it possible to salmon fish from a canoe any where in Campbell River? If you have never done it, it is an absolute blast. All I am hoping for is somewhere that is relatively close to shore, just wanted to know if I have any chance in the general area.

Thank you in advance for all advise!

ernie

PS - If I have no chance in the general area, can anyone suggest a place to rent a small boat?

All you have to see is how fast the tide moves there to know the answer.  :o

It's been years since I rented a boat there since fishing dropped off so dramatically no idea who's in business there now.

Those tides can be dangerous unless you A) know them well, or B) have someone who does.  I would advise against a canoe in Campbell River.  Not sure about boat rentals, though.
