so i have the old K.Dowling & Sons Centerpin reel . Everything is in good shape , but it is missing the clicker mechanism .

I have not been able to find parts for this reel , just 1 complete reel for sale on ebay .

Would I be able to use a clicker from another similar sized centerpin ?

Are there any people out there with knowledge of this sort of thing ?

Thanks !

Here is a few pics of what I am dealing with .

i have one of those reels, you need a pawl that slides between the gap in the brass spring, a flathead screw with large thin washer sits on top of the pawl.the screw goes to the outside of the reel and a knob is held on with a nut.  mikes should have a pawl that would work the rest you would have to inprovise or they might be able to put something together that works.

YNOT - any chance you could take a picture of what you are describing , i think i under stand , but a picture is worth a thousand words . If not , that for the info any way .

Apparently , I may be able to use the Pawl from a " Chinese i7000 center pin "    What ever that is ??? I can't seem to find it exists ... anyone ?

Thanks for the info .

Hopefully I can have it ready and restored by Coho season . It is a bit wobbly ....

... I have heard back from Mikes in abby and they said that they should have something that would work , however the cost is equal to purchasing a identical reel off ebay , so i am a bit torn about repairing it .

centerpinangling.com has given me a couple choices of what may work , basically using parts form a 1970's centerpin . " 1970's Avon royals & Grice & Young eagle center pin "

I am currently searching for those parts now to see if they will work .

I just need a picture of the inside of the k.dowling reel to compare a little .

Thanks for the help everyone . I can't wait to get this polished up !

thank you for the pictures . they will help tremedously .

does the knob slide up and down with out actually "clicking" into positions ?  Most centerpins i have dealt with do , but this one seems to look like it just slides up and down and stays in position with friction , not a notch or spring of somekind .

here is the pawl i am trying to find ... or at least something that will work .

I am currently trying to track down parts from the Abu 7000i , it seems to use the same style .

ok thanks ! .

I think i found a suitable replacement ...

Should work , the gap on the spring is similar in size to the centerpin spring gap . and it is the shape .
