Freeman Lake, August 28th 2011
« on: August 29, 2011, 09:49:56 AM »

I think this lake is toast for sport fish.

It is filled with sticklebacks (1000's) and they are quite large.

Has been this way for many years.

Oh heck yeah.  It's a decent lake and would be nice in a tube if there was something worth catching in there.

There was bass reportedly in there years ago but I have stopped there many times to wet a line and never seen anything but the numerous sticklebacks.

There won't be any stocking as the lake is in the Barrier Civil Defence Zone. And there were some sizable bass in there years ago.

Can't say precisley, but over 10 years ago anyway. When River's edge sport fishing was in Squamish, they had a photo bulletin board with a number of photo's of nice size Bass from Freeman Lake.

The last I saw of bass in there was around 2006, saw photos of them and they were good size. Tried fishing it a bunch and saw the same as you. Sticklebacks everywhere.
