Plane crash in Richmond today
« on: October 27, 2011, 11:13:47 PM »

One of those days helping my senior parents but didn't expect to witness the aftermath of a plane crash...

Off at noon to the lab so my mom can get her 3 month test. Then off home to pick up my dad ...wheelchair & all & bring parents to their MD.
Flu shots..prescription for their meds...now off to get cat food at Bosley's...after picked up a 8 pieces of Brownies dark chicken.
Decided to park by the dyke & look out at the Middle Arm of the Fraser...Northshore Mts....airport...& quickly snack on the chicken.

There was a really nice fishing boat with a T top  Merc. outboard...pilot of the boat went to the north shore as a float plane was landing from a west approach...one UBC rowing boat with 4 on board were training...hugging the south shore ..small motor boat followed behind the rowers.

Then to the mainly east direction (NE) thick black smoke was going skyward...we hoped it was just something that caught fire...but assumed there could of been a plane crash...
...so on goes the radio..11:30 am on the dial...sure enough it was a plane that went down short of the runway...
By the tv news it seems to have been close to where the McDonald's restaurant is located on Sea Is.
Heard that 9 people are injured ...some worst than others...hope they all make it & no one dies...

It was a miracle that nobody died in the crash.

Holmes ya just checked the news...one of the pilots has died. So sad.
Hind sight is 20/20 but possibly the plane should of landed at one of many LML airfields. Pt Coq has a good one.

RIP
