I kept 2 Chum last year, they were not Chrome, but had the glamor of sparkle, and white bellies, in great shape still, and were excellent eating and had a bounty of Roe. This year, though I haven't kept any because I have enough Coho and Chinook in my freezer to last us. However, of the females I've caught this year I wouldn't had even considered keeping them --- even though they appeared, at first glance, to be better than the ones from last year. Something is defiantly up.

The Males I've landed this year have looked great, though, a big smaller but really firm, and full of piss n' vinegar.

I noticed this last year aswell, it seems after oct.20-25 95% of them are singles no matter what the fish looks like.

Every doe but two this year were like this! They were thin, small and soft. They appeared chrome in the water, then I tail it and it seems soft. Plus a few had these orange dots which I thought was the problem. All chrome but just didn't seem to have the firmness.
I too saw a doe with orange spots all over the body.  But the fish looked remarkably fresh.

Last Sunday walking on the East side down stream from the 'toilet bowl' there were at least two batches of single eggs on the river bank - they were small and orangey hue. Any speculation as which species of fish these eggs from?

Would they be sockeye eggs?  Had someone been using them as bait?

Chum. Lots of does around and they are generally cleaner than the bucks.

Chum eggs from some poor doe ripe to spawn that got bonked just for the roe or when it got dragged up onto the rocks started to release its eggs out of shock.
