Harrison River, April 7th 2012
« on: April 08, 2012, 08:15:47 AM »

What a nice day yesterday.  Ran into some nice people.  Caught a handful of whitefish, but no cuutties.  My buddy was tossing flies, I had light spinning gear.  All fish were caught on spinners.  My buddy tried hard for a fish on the fly, but no luck.  I thought I'd show him how to do it so we switched rods for an hour.  He landed 4 whitefish, me nothing.  I took my rod back, and we went home.  Top off the day with the Canucks winning the Presidents Trophy.....Hell YA!

Was out there on friday with my brother inlaw and did pretty decent. Friday was overcast all day which probably helped with the cutthroat. I never do as good in the sun. Did get quite a few white fish as well. Was pretty neat, in one run I got a white fish, cutthroat and bull trout all with in a few casts. Our fish we all on the fly, my brother inlaw started getting interested in fly fishing recently and got his first cutthroat on the fly, and a very nice one at that, so that got him pretty excited.

thanks for the post.  I want to catch a whitefish, as I never have.  And I've never been to Harrison River.  Are there any decent places to fish from shore, where I can actually catch some?

I would imagine west side of the #7 bridge north side of the river, you could walk around out there.
