skagit 2012 season
« on: August 27, 2012, 07:58:02 PM »

was thinking of heading to the lower skagit on the weekend but was wondering if anyone had been there recently and could report on the conditions.  its a long drive down their and if its not wadeable or fishable i would hate to waste all the time and money.

Bulls can be anywhere, in the big pools strip em in. Swing in the runs and never pass up a log jam.
Cast to the logs and feed a bunch of line to get a nice drift by the whole jam or even swing in front if you can.

Any spin fishers up there?
I'd like to give it a whirl with a spin rod and some jigs/twisty tails.

The river's not fly-fish only IIRC, so spin away (though please check the regs before doing so).
